    Whoa, Serengetti is a dog?? I guess that invalidates my other theories:

    1) Serengetti is an unusually large guinea pig.
    2) Serengetti is a black licorice jelly bean that has sprouted eyes, ears, legs and a mouth.
    3) Serengetti is a human liver that, through an error in proper organ donation protocol, sprouted eyes, ears, etc.

    I was rather fond of theory #2.
